What data is exported in the Export function of OMID ?
OMID's
Export function is used to export data to another database for
analysis. To protect the privacy of patients and other's involved in
the incident, none of the name fields are exported. Your organization's
name is added to each record to group your data.
How do I move my data to a new version of OMID?
Data
can be moved from on version to another by using the Backup and Restore
functions under the Admin Menu. Backup your data to a file in the old
version of OMID. Open the new version and Restore your data.
I have started using IMS/OMID and the number of incidents seem to be increasing. Why?
What is being seen is an increase in the number of incidents reported.
Initially when an IMS like OMID is used in an organization there can be
a fear of reporting. There could be concerns that reporting an incident
may reflect badly on the individual Instructor or Group Leader. In this
stage it is important to educate staff about the importance of accurate
reporting in identifying causes of incidents and addressing ways to
reduce them. As people become more comfortable about reporting, more
incidents may be reported.
Once
a high level of reporting in achieved, more accurate analysis can take
place, leading to changes in practices and a decrease in the actual
incident rate.
